This position is responsible foroverseeing the Operations personnel and manufacturing process ofbiomass. This position has full ownership of ensuring a safe, qualityfocused, and operationally driven work shift that delivers company KeyPerformance Indicators (KPI's). Likewise, this role requires a leader that isresponsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team toensure that HSE, Quality, Productivity and Continuous Improvement expectationsare met/exceeded.

So, what will you be doing?

Dailysafety walks to audit housekeeping and paperwork with prompt feedbackto supervisors and area managers

Safety:Create a "Safety First"culture

  • Enforcerule and policy compliance with positive reinforcement, counselling asneeded, and timely disciplinary actions when needed
  • AuditJSA's, POWRA's, Hot work, LOTO, and Confined space documentation
  • Createquarterly goals for direct reports with clear objectives for safety,housekeeping, dust score, and environmental compliance
  • Showno tolerance for bending/breaking ofcompany policies and procedures for all employees with impartialapplication of coaching, training, and disciplinary processes
  • Frequentreference to golden rules and policies in discussions with employees
  • Exhibithigh expectations, rapid feedback, and daily goals for operations to driveexcellence
  • Cometo meetings with situational awareness and prepared plans to drive safety,quality, and productivity to highest possible level
  • Createquarterly operational and production goals for directreports that support continuous improvement of operational team andachievement of facility goals
  • Supportsupervisors to manage time and attendance for plant to proactively fillgaps, build bench strength, and provide full coveragefor daily shifts
  • Provideleadership for Area Managers for planned maintenance, problem solving, anddebottlenecking of processes to optimize daily on quality production.
  • HoldArea Managers accountable to provide active leadership in Safety, Quality, CostControl, Productivity, and Environmental compliance.
  • Exhibitactive leadership across plant.Encourage, coach, and intercede asnecessary to achieve plant goals.
  • Ensure8D's are completed for safety and production incidents to supportcontinuous improvement
Housekeeping:Implementhousekeeping standards to minimize hazards and to eliminate OSHA recordable andlost time injuries
  • Walk with Safety manager, Plant manager, and Area Managers at least once per day to assess plant housekeeping and compliance.
  • Givefrequent and timely feedback to crews, supervisors, and individuals toimprove plant housekeeping and dust score
  • Ensuretemps and outside services are properly utilizedto keep plant in best possible condition at least possible cost
Personnel:Responsible for overallfacility personnel including hiring, training, coaching, settingexpectations, ensuring compliance to rules, procedures, andregulations, discipline, performance, and terminations if necessary.
  • Leadthe hiring process for all operations employees, and staff asappropriate
  • Ensuretemps and outside services are properly utilized to keep plant in bestpossible condition at least possible cost
  • Developtraining manuals, standard operating procedures, andLock-Out Tag-Out documents
  • Schedule,train and maintain training records for all operations employees
  • Ensurethat health and safety programs and plans are developed and implemented inaccordance with all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Ensurethat the biomass is produced in compliance with the manufacturing andquality specifications
  • Communicateand support the philosophy of the Continuous Improvement Process
  • Continuouslyencourage, seek, identify, and implement the means and methods toimprove plant productivity and efficiency without compromising productquality, safety or environmental
  • Ensurethat operations employees are informed and updated on key business andorganizational issues
